'Life is a Label' AW14

Hi Dolls,

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Last night I attended the 'Life is a Label' fashion show for the end of 'Dublin Fashion Festival.' It was held at the Royal Hibernian Way with reception and after party in the Grafton Lounge.
Unfortunately I had to work until 7.15pm and therefore had to rush into town but luckily I made it just on time. Apologies for the poor quality of my photos though as I had to use a phone to take the pics and due to running so late I wasn't in the best seat. But anyway...life goes on :P

The show was hosted by Irish fashion designer Bebhinn Flood and Irish style guru Brendan Courtney also made an appearance. The show was styled by a past fashion lecture of mine, Grainne Walsh. The show featured looks from Arnotts and Brown Thomas. Check out some of the pics below and scroll down to see my Trend Overview and What I wore...x

Trend Overview:
The key trends for AW14/15 which were apparent at the show were:
-Loose flowing midi skirts paired with over-sized knitted jumpers
-Sleek and Over-sized silhouettes
-Light wash skinny jeans teamed with over-sized jumpers
-Draping in the form of tops and dresses for evening wear
-Cowl neck jumpers
-Simple shift dresses
-Over-sized, faux fur coats

The dominant color palette for the season throughout this fashion show was a mixture of purples, burgundy, greys, black and cream.

I also took a few short video clips of the show so check them out below!

What I Wore:
I don't actually have any full length pics of myself from the night but I went casual wearing a black and white Kim K t-shirt by brand 'Eleven Paris' which is available in BT2, A boyfriend blazer from Vero Moda, Quilted leather boots by Nine West, Legging from H&M and 'Relentlessly Red' Lipstick by MAC.

Lots of Love

FASHION: Amy Huberman Shoe Collection

Amy Huberman, the beautiful, much loved Irish Actress and Wife to Much loved Irish Rugby star Brian O'Driscoll, has teamed up with shoe designers Bourbon footwear to help design a collection of women's quality footwear which is currently available in Arnotts Shoe Garden.

All shoes in the collection are named after girly, timeless movies such as Breakfast at Tiffanys, The Notebook and much more, which I think is such a sweet idea.

The collection of luxury leather shoes ranges from around €99.99 to €139.99 for boots.

Here are a couple of my faves and you can see the rest at Arnotts! Enjoy :) x

FASHION: Arnotts Spring/Summer 2014 Trend Overview

Hi Girls,

In December, I attended the Arnotts SS14 press preview fashion show to have a glimpse at all of the new styles, trends, color palettes etc for the new season. I decided at the time that I would wait until atleast after Christmas before I posted an overview on Summer trends. So today, it has stopped raining (probably not for long) and the sun is shining through my window (although it is still cold out) so I thought now would be a good time to write about some Summery trends. I am a real Summer girl, the sunshine makes me Smile, my birthday is in June and I love Summer Trends and the bright girly colors that come with them :)

Some of the key trends that were apparent on the day were: Monochrome, Metallic, Bright Geometric and Tribal prints, Florals, Nudes, Midi Length skirts and dresses. I also thought there seemed to be quite a 'Pretty Woman' (after she meets Richard gear and goes shopping on Rodeo Drive) :P feel to some of the looks. Such as these ones below...

Nude

This season also sees the introduction of some new exciting brands to Arnotts such as Clover Canyon, Milly, and Halston Heritage which again add a lot of new, interesting prints and colors to the summer season.

Below, I have grouped together some images of the previously mentioned trends so you can see what is coming for the season ahead. Remember all of the looks seen below are available at ARNOTTS! Enjoy Dolls :) xXx

Paul Costelloe Coat Collection for Arnotts 2013

Arnotts are launching an exclusive collection of Paul Costelloe coats this month for Autumn/Winter 2013. The much anticipated collection consists of 14 on trend yet classic coat styles for that stylish woman who is looking for an investment piece to update her winter wardrobe.

The 14 piece collection includes a variety of jacket styles such as military, classic double breasted wool coats, crombie style and also the cocoon or 'egg' style which is a very new style for Costelloe this season.

My two favorite pieces from the collection have to be the 'Egg' Coat (€465) and the red military style jacket (€495). Both of these styles are young, fun and trendy and are definitely more of a statement piece.

The price point for the collection ranges from €395 to €495. They may not be high street prices but it is definitely worth popping into Arnotts to have a look at the exclusive range. Or if you think your mother deserves a well earned new designer coat for Christmas then this collection is certainly worth checking out ;)

Here are some more coats from the collection below...Enjoy x

Paul Costelloe Belted Trench €495

Paul Costelloe Camel Long Wool Coat €495

Paul Costelloe Double Button Coat €400
